Kia Ora bloggers,
Today, as a given task, my class and I wrote a story. It could be about anything, but their had to be a simile and metaphor in it. You could do more than one, or just one.
Heres mine!
As soon as her eyes opened, a new day had begun.
Saria had been waiting for this day, ever since 3 months ago!
She was finally turning 13. The red-head hoped it would be a nice day, but she was wrong.
Grey clouds scattered in the sky like ants trying to get away. It was cold, and gloomy.
But the girl didn't let that spoil her day. Sure it was terrible weather, but it was still her birthday to start.
After getting dressed, she scurried downstairs. The smell of fresh pancakes and chocolate filled Saria’s nose.
Her mother always made sure she had the best day when she aged up. Saria finally reached the kitchen.
“Mornin Mum!” She greeted her mother as she sat down near the counter.
“Good morning Hun” Saria’s mother turned around to see her daughter.
“You sure look like a star” She smiled. Saria smiled, she liked getting compliments on her outfits.
She one day wanted to be a fashion designer. Her fashion was pure gold.
Saria hopped off the stool, and made her way to the lounge.
She sat on the couch, slumping as if she had been working all day long.
She quickly turned on the TV, and began to flick through channels, most were either for little kids, or adults.
Saria’s mother entered the room, and set the plate in front of her daughter.
Saria’s eyes shone like stars as she stared at the breakfast.
She soon began to dig in.
The red headed girl soon stopped, watching a show. It was of course about fashion.
Models were walking down the cat walk.
They were all princesses! So beautiful and elegant.
Saria would cheer ever so slightly, when they confidently walked down the runway.
After finishing her breakfast, Saria gathered her things for school.
She would normally walk, but it was a cloudy day.
Saria sat in the car, next to her mother in the passenger seat. Saria’s mother drove all the way to her school.
It was a short drive, only about 5-8 minutes, depending on traffic.
The two chatted the whole way through. Finally, they arrived at their destination.
Saria said goodbye, and stepped onto school grounds. She looked around, spotting her friends.
She yelled, and waved at them.
They all quickly reached Saria, showering her in ‘Happy birthday”s or “I love your outfit”.
Today, was going to be great, she could tell.
Hope you like it!
Did you spot the Metaphor or Simile?
Have an awesome day and take care ^^
Ka mau te wehi! Excellent writing, Sascha. I liked how you included speech marks("") to show who is talking. What inspired you to write about a birthday? This is what I spotted as your simile(s) and metaphor.
ReplyDeleteSimile: "Grey clouds scattered in the sky like ants trying to get away." / "You sure look like a star"
Metaphor: "Her fashion was pure gold."
Did I spot it correctly? Keep up the great work.
Hi Miss Leuii,
