Kia ora Bloggers,
On Tuesday, 6th of June, the seniors did the second. For the second test flight, we got to shoot the rockets.
Since we were doing The Wonder Project, we had to be in an open space, so we went out to Keith Hay Park to do our test launches. Each class did their own, so all the seniors weren't together.
Most of the people in my class waited on the concrete while a group from did their test flight. It was very cool watching the rocket shoot off. My teacher would tell us the amount of water and PSI that was put into the bottle before it shot off. The people in my class that were sitting down stared in awe. They would cheer for the group that was shooting the rocket.
Some groups rockets would go more high than other and some would go more far than others. Groups had to write down the amount of water and PSI that was put into the rocket. Everyone would write it down to see what amount would work the best.
When it was my group's turn, we put on the vests. The people in my group were Mehdi, Loiloi, Mayank and Amelia. Unfortunately Amelia wasn't at school that day. We each wore a vest, depending on what our job was for the project. I was engineer 1 so I wore a yellow vest. Mehdi was engineer 2 so he wore a blue vest. We both had to water safety glasses.
We did 2 test flights that were successful. The water level for the first one was 350 and the PSI was 30. For the second one we did 350 again and 40 PSI. I think the second was the best out of the 2 because it shot more high and more far. We did a count down from 3 then pressed the handle. It was very cool.
Here are some photos taken during The Wonder Project.
